Devomni was founded by myself, Robert Shaver, in August 2004 and incorporated in July 2007. At this point I have spent almost 13 years in the technology boom that has brought us Microsoft, Google, eBay, Amazon, and the rest of the major technology groups that are household names. I decided it was time to start my own venture when the gap between customer and myself was filled with weak project managers and salesmen who had almost no knowledge of the products and services they were selling.

Of course starting any company can be intimidating and stressful but I considered it challenging and motivating. I started forming relationships were I could benefit the other person more than they could benefit me. It may sound like a backwards approach but it has done wonders for me to be the helping, not reaching, hand. I started by writing a social service application for the city of Lexington, Kentucky. The software that was in place was absolutely terrible. The labor that was lost due to inefficiency was unaccounted for which resulted in no practicle means to request funding for technology. A typical lose lose scenario that was perfect to become involved with. They were going to lose accredidation, labor was unaccounted for, client information and relationships were strained, and the rest of the problems were just being accept as business as usual. I integrated the best of available technologies and built a system that was well worth over $250,000 and best of all, they paid nothing for the development.
